Benjamin Tipper MA, CPT, E-RYT 500, is the founder and owner of The Serenity Space and The Sustainable Giving Campaign. Born in Maryland, Ben was taught the tenets of wellness and self-care by his mother, an organic farmer, and his father, a yoga photographer. Their lessons in self-improvement, sustainability, spirituality, and optimism form the principles Ben strives to embody in his business and personal life.
Ben Graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2014 with a B.A. in English and a minor in Spanish. His undergraduate studies included extended visits to Guatemala, Nova Scotia, Arizona, and Costa Rica.
From 2015-2016 Ben worked as the Front Office Coordinator at The Cometa Wellness Center. He is grateful to everyone at the center who taught him about running a small business and wellness practices and principles.
Ben founded The Serenity Space in the summer of 2016, and has worked full time in the wellness field since. In July 2017 Ben completed his ACE personal trainer certification, and in September 2017 he completed his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training under Anjali Sunita at Baltimore Yoga Village. In May 2018 Ben graduated with a Masters of the Arts in Professional Studies from Towson University. The Masters was a curriculum designed around The Serenity Space: Ben took courses from various departments in order to help him learn how to better serve people as a wellness practitioner. This holistic program of study included subjects such as psychology, anatomy and physiology, counseling, and business management. Ben's comprehensive educational background alongside his time in the wellness industry makes Ben uniquely effective at helping people unlock their potential. In 2022 Ben completed a 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Indra Yoga in Peru, and he is now registered under the yoga alliance as the highest possible teaching designation, E-RYT 500, with more than 2,500 hours of teaching experience. He is co-leading a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2024.
Ben is the Yoga and Fitness Program Manager for the Baltimore area Movement gyms, managing 50+ instructors across three gym locations. He has previously taught at Baltimore Yoga Village, YogaWorks, Calvert Hall High School, and Lift Yoga and Strength.
Ben founded and runs The Sustainable Giving Campaign which has raised $87,248 for Baltimore Nonprofits since 2017. He donates 5% of his total annual income to The Sustainable Giving Campaign and will never take a profit from it. He has been carbon neutral (via offsets) since 2022.
When Ben is not working he enjoys rock climbing, yoga, reading, writing, skiing, hip hop, and outdoor adventures.
