Benjamin Tipper MA, CPT, RYT is the founder and owner of The Serenity Space. Born in Maryland, Ben was taught the tenets of wellness and self-care by his mother, an organic farmer, and his father, a yoga photographer. Their lessons in spirituality, self-improvement, sustainability, and optimism form the principles Ben strives to embody in his business and personal life.
Ben Graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2014 with a B.A. in English and a minor in Spanish. His undergraduate studies included extended visits to Guatemala, Nova Scotia, Arizona, and Costa Rica. He worked during this time as a tutor, administrative assistant, volunteer, laborer, and contractual grant writer. Ben enjoyed expanding upon his personal meditation, yoga, rap, and exercise practices during this time. From 2015-2016 Ben worked as the Front Office Coordinator at The Cometa Wellness Center. He is grateful to everyone at the center who taught him about running a small business and wellness practices and principles.
Ben founded The Serenity Space in the summer of 2016, and has worked full time in the wellness field since. In July 2017 Ben completed his ACE personal trainer certification, and in September 2017 he completed his 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training under Anjali Sunita at Baltimore Yoga Village. In May 2018 Ben graduated with a Masters of the Arts in Professional Studies from Towson University. The Masters was a curriculum designed around The Serenity Space: Ben took courses from various departments in order to help him learn how to better serve as a wellness practitioner. This holistic program of study included subjects such as psychology, anatomy and physiology, counseling, and business management. Ben's comprehensive educational background alongside his time in the wellness industry makes Ben uniquely effective at helping people unlock their potential.
Ben is the Yoga Program Manager for the Baltimore area Movement gyms, managing 30+ yoga instructors across three gym locations. He is also affiliated or has taught long-term with Baltimore Yoga Village, YogaWorks, Calvert Hall High School, and Lift Yoga and Strength.
When Ben's not working he enjoys rock climbing, yoga, reading, writing, and outdoor adventures of all sorts. He is the proud founder and manager of The Sustainable Giving Campaign which has raised $53,153 for Baltimore Nonprofits since 2017.
